Creality Ender-3 V3 KE
Geekbuying provided me with a test device. It was dispatched within three working days. To say it straight away: I am thrilled!
Prejudices
Between us prayer sisters: I used to think that Creality printers were craft boxes. But I’ve only ever been able to form this impression from other reports or forums, as I’ve never owned a Creality printer. I would therefore never have bought one, even though I know that the manufacturer has a large fan base, primarily in the USA.
Smooth bed pusher
The Creality Ender-3 V3 KE is pretty darn fast for an i3 printer, without making you scared or anxious. It prints with an impressive smoothness that I would never have expected from such a fast bed pusher.
Loudness
You can clearly hear the printer, but compared to the Qidi X-Smart 3 or the Sidewinder X3 Plus (which is advertised as „quiet“), the Creality is much more pleasant by sound. It is not as annoying as my other printers, even though it prints at full speed. Thanks to the linear rail of the X-axis, the printer is also extremely unobtrusive in terms of purely mechanical noise.
Clipper
It’s the little things that I like, such as the convenient filament feeder or the three USB sockets on the display. As the printer runs Klipper, it fits seamlessly into my „printer farm“ of five printers, two of which do not run Klipper. I actually use these the least. Today, I simply wouldn’t want to use a printer without Klipper. Sure, you can do without it, but it’s very convenient to send the print job via WLAN and monitor the prints.
Speed
I haven’t stopped it (yet), but with the Creality Highspeed PLA the Benchy was printed in 15:09. I was impressed by the result. So far the best Benchy that has come out of one of my printers. Better than the more expensive, smaller and much more complex Qidi. And I didn’t even have to fine-tune the Creality.
PEI plate
The autolevelling and even the Z-offset work completely automatically. And what can I say? The prints and the print bed adhesion are absolutely perfect. It’s the first printer I’ve used where I haven’t even had to clean the PEI plate. Chapeau! I can warmly recommendthis printer to anyone new to 3D printing.
Unboxing and assembly
15-minute benchmark
Unpacked, assembled and printed – nothing else. I did it that way on purpose, because that’s how beginners would do it, or want to do it. Nobody wants to tinker, adjust, set up and do things before they can print. What can I say? The device really prints OOTB so well that I have no ambition to change anything.
There’s always room for improvement, that’s for sure, so I will of course do the usual fine-tuning later and write about it in the test report.
Favourite printer
Even though I received the device from Geekbuying as a test version, this is no cheap praise, because after a few test prints the printer managed to become my favourite printer, which I now use the most.
What does it do better than my other fast printers with clippers?
- lower noise level
- easy filament handling
- perfect print bed adhesion
- great print results
And all this without me even having to calibrate PID tuning, e-steps or the flow. I didn’t even have to set or check the Z-offset. That’s what amazed me the most.
Test follows
A detailed test will follow in the next few days.
